Tournament Format:

 
 

The Boston Bonanza Fishing Tourney '24 is a catch-and-release virtual tournament between May 23rd and June 12th. Submissions require only a picture.

Entry Fee: $65.00

There will be 5 winners - There will be one winner for the All Species category and one Winner for best-in-class trout, Striped bass, Bluefish, and Freshwater bass (largemouth or smallmouth).

For the All Species category, the winner is determined by the number of different species caught. In the event of a tie, the total number of inches will be tallied. There's no preference for the weight given to any species in this category.

For the best-in-class category, the longest fish wins!

Qualifying Species List: Black Bass (Largemouth & Smallmouth),Black Sea Bass, Blue Fish, Catfish or Bullheads, Carp, Flounder (Fluke), Haddock, Lake Trout, Pike and Pickerel, Striped Bass, Trout (Rainbow & Brook)

 
 
 
  • Tournament Rules:

    - A valid Massachusetts Fresh and/or Saltwater fishing license is required.

    - The tournament follows a Catch & Release format. However, fish can be kept for personal use in accordance with Massachusetts guidelines.

    - Freshwater fishing must be in public Massachusetts waters, and saltwater fishing must be from shore or accessed from a boat ramp within Massachusetts.

    - Rod & reel fishing only is allowed.

    Submissions:

    - Submissions must be in digital format on Google, submitted by the deadline.

    - Only the longest fish for each species caught can be submitted, once per species.

    - During the measuring of the fish, no part of the head or tail should be covered.

    -Photos must be taken with the provided measuring tape and tournament token.

    - The date, time, and location for each fish caught must be included in the submission.

    Virtual captain's briefing (will be recorded): May 22nd

    Tournament Start: May 23rd, 6 am

    Tournament End: June 12th, 6 pm

    Submissions Due: June, 12th 7pm

    Awards ceremony: June 14th, location to be announced

  • All registered participants will receive a captain’s bag, which includes a measuring tape, a shirt, a sticker, and a free ticket to the awards ceremony (with food included).

  • On May 13th-17th, Elevate Youth will be hosting daily fishing trips with groups of students, and we would like to invite you to volunteer for a day. If you do, you will receive one fish of your choice added to your list at an average length. Please note that this will only count towards the all-species competition and not the best in class, and the length of the fish will not help towards a tiebreaker.
